A digital safety exhibition hall in Fucheng Subdistrict, Longhua District has been visited by over 10,000 people and haspresented more than 100 lectures for residents, enterprises and social workers in the subdistrict since its opening last December.

Avisitor surnamed Chen, who had just graduated from his university and came to Shenzhen for work, experienced a virtual fire drill at the exhibition hall recently. “The VR (virtual reality) technology made the drill so vivid that I felt myself being trapped in a fire and becoming helpless and terrified,” said Chen.

Thanks to the drill, visitors can gain a better understanding of the usage of gas masks, fire extinguishers, fire escapes and other fire-fighting facilities.

A flour mill staffer surnamed Wang attended a lecture on work safety andin the hall experienced a powder explosion simulator demonstration, where he splashed a spoon-full of powder into a special experiment device and the powder instantly exploded with sparks. Wang stated that he will pay more attention to his safety and obey the regulations better while working at the mill.

Additionally, visitors can also experience in the hall interactive simulators about other scenarios including DUI (Driving Under the Influence), electric shock, and gas leakage, and can learn how to wear protective gear and how to provide CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation).
